SecurPutty Spectra is the hand therapy putty clinics have trusted for decades: six graded resistances, made in the USA from non-toxic silicone, in an 85 g tub that fits a patient's pocket. Squeeze it, pinch it, roll it, stretch it — putty builds grip and pinch strength, tendon glide and range of motion after injury, surgery or a stroke, and keeps arthritic hands moving.
Choosing the resistance
Match the colour to tested grip strength, or start soft and move up as strength returns. Most home programs run through two or three colours over a few months.
| Colour | Resistance | Grip strength guide (kg) | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yellow | Soft | 9–18 | Early rehab, weak or painful hands |
| Red | Medium-soft | 16–27 | Progressing from soft |
| Green | Medium | 25–36 | General strengthening |
| Blue | Firm | 30–40 | Later-stage rehab |
| Purple | Extra firm | 38–55 | Strong hands, end of program |
| Dark green | XX-firm | 50+ | Athletes, tradespeople |
Why Spectra grade
- Holds its resistance and doesn't crumble or leave residue
- Non-toxic silicone, latex free, unscented
- Six resistances — finer steps than the usual four — so progressions are gentler
Care
Store at room temperature in its container; warm days can make it tacky. Keep it off fabric and textured surfaces. Not for consumption — if swallowed, seek medical attention.
For clinics
The 2.3 kg tub is the economical way to dispense to patients — pair it with 85 g containers with lids. For a graded program in a box, see the Digiflex finger exercisers and slow recovery foam. Bulk pricing available on 02 9878 6188.
