Choosing the resistance

Match the colour to tested grip strength, or start soft and move up as strength returns. Most home programs run through two or three colours over a few months.

Digiflex works each finger on its own. Four spring-loaded buttons and a palm bar let you strengthen every digit separately, so a strong finger can't cover for a weak one. Five colour-coded resistances make it easy to test, chart progress and step up.

Foam blocks that squeeze easily and recover slowly, for gentle grip exercise where putty is too much. Made of 100% open-cell memory foam in four resistances, so a therapist can build a low-resistance squeezing program and step it up. Each block is 75 mm x 44 mm x 44 mm; a pack holds sixteen.

Who it's for

Early hand rehab after injury or surgery, arthritis, stroke recovery, and aged-care and paediatric programs where a soft, light exerciser is safer and more comfortable than a spring device.

Choosing a resistance

Match the colour to the patient's tested grip strength (kg). Start weak patients on yellow; move through red, green and blue for medium-grade work; use purple and dark green for strong patients finishing a strengthening program.

Touch Test Sensory Discriminator 2 point

Innovative design consists of two rotating, plastic disks that are joined together for complete, two-point discrimination testing in one unit. Tests static and moving two-point discrimination of fingers, toes, or sensory flaps. Ideal for testing following nerve repair, grafts and innervated tissue transfer for desensitization, or to determine level of impairment. Rounded tips are spaced at standard testing intervals from 1 to 15mm apart. A 20 and 25mm spacing also are given. One disk setting tests from 1 to 8mm, and the other setting tests from 9 to 15mm. To change settings, just rotate the top disk until it clicks in place. Easy to read and use. Instructions and a carry case are included.
