The Polar Care Kodiak is Breg's compact motorised cold therapy unit — the "ice machine" surgeons send patients home with after knee, shoulder, hip and ankle procedures. Add ice and water, wrap the pad around the joint, and a whisper-quiet pump circulates cold for 4–6 hours per fill. Patients report less pain and swelling; follow-up visits can focus on recovery rather than pain management.
What's in the bundle
- Polar Care Kodiak cold therapy unit
- One Intelli-Flo pad — choose the pad for the joint being treated (knee, shoulder, hip, ankle or multi-use)
The battery pack is sold separately and not included.
Who it's for
Post-operative recovery after arthroscopic and reconstructive procedures, general surgery and trauma; chronic pain management; physiotherapy clinics running post-op loan programs. Suitable for hospital, clinic and home use.
Why the Kodiak
- The only unit on the market with a battery option — 10–14 hours from four AA batteries, for patients on the move
- Intelli-Flo pads are shaped to the treatment area for even, consistent cold
- Durable, quiet, simple to operate
- TGA registered — ARTG 278206
Important
A barrier must be placed between the Intelli-Flo pad and the patient's skin — use the sterile Intelli-Flo dressing in the first days after surgery, or a towel. Use as directed by the treating surgeon or physiotherapist, who will set duration and frequency.
Kodiak or Wave?
The Kodiak delivers cold only. If your surgeon has asked for compression as well, see the Polar Care Wave. Our guide compares the two.
