A Capener-style spring coil splint that straightens a tight PIP joint while still letting the finger bend. Coil springs on both sides of the joint give balanced dynamic extension of about 227 g (8 oz) at 15 degrees of flexion, so the splint doesn't twist as the finger straightens. Curved pads spread the pressure; the low profile fits under a glove or sleeve.
Who it's for
Hand therapists treating PIP flexion contractures and boutonnière deformity where the contracture is up to 45 degrees and feels elastic when stretched. Gives some MP support as well. Latex-free.

Measure from the distal palmar crease to the DIP joint with the finger extended.
