PUSH ORTHO CMC THUMB BRACE

The original CMC Brace for streamlined control and relief for the CMC thumb (basal) joint.

HOW IT WORKS:

The Push CMC stabilises the basal joint of the thumb and places the thumb in a functional position. This guarantees optimal hand function and reduces such symptoms as pain and loss of strength.

FEATURES:

The Push CMC thumb brace consists of a cylindrical section around the ball of the thumb and a fixed connection running along the palm to the outside of the hand. This can be closed at the back of the hand with two non-elastic bands. The cylindrical section consists of two components: an aluminium strip and a transparent, flexible, synthetic part. The aluminium strip can be shaped and individually adapted for maximum stabilization of the base of the thumb. The selected materials and rounded edges guarantee maximum comfort. The simple closing system enables patients to fit the brace themselves without any effort.

Advantages

  • Delivers long term durability, resisting abrasion
  • Covers minimal surface of the palm
  • Can be worn under a glove
  • Can be worn underwater and washed in a washing machine - dries easily
  • Will not deform if left in a hot environment
  • Latex free

Sizes (Measure Palm Circumference)

Push Ortho CMC thumb brace

I’d been looking for a durable and less cumbersome thumb brace than those that go right around the wrist so this one is perfect. The only possible room for improvement might be the point where it actually makes contact with the CMC joint. It’s quite tricky to adjust the brace so that it doesn’t press uncomfortably on the protruding bone. Perhaps something like a gel pad could be incorporated in future designs? Of course it shouldn’t compromise overall stability.
