- Patients with second-degree burns or worse are exposed to the risk of hypertrophic scarring, which can degenerate into keloids.
The compression exerted by Thuasne Cicatrex® garments slows down blood irrigation [relative ischaemia], reducing hypervascularisation causing hypertrophy, oedema, pruritis and fibroblasts. The principle of Cicatrex® compression helps reorganise the collagen fibres in a plane parallel to the skin, preventing anarchic healing of the connective tissue, reducing unsightly scars and dysfunctional adhesions.
