Cicatrex is Thuasne's compression glove for burns, lymphoedema and post-operative scarring. Steady compression slows blood flow to the healing tissue, which reduces the swelling, itch and over-growth of fibroblasts that turn a scar hypertrophic, and it encourages collagen to lie flat in the plane of the skin. Sold as a single glove; order two for both hands.
Who it's for
Burns units and hand therapists managing thermal, chemical or electrical burns and skin graft sites; lymphoedema therapists reducing and stabilising hand swelling; plastic and reconstructive surgery aftercare.
Closed or open tip?
Closed tip gives compression to the fingertips. Open tip leaves the tips free for feeling and fine tasks. Beige is closed tip only; black comes in both, in selected sizes.
Getting the size right
Measure around the hand at the knuckles, excluding the thumb.
